Lions game 5

Blog

The Lions pack won the day, with a superb performance from all 8 of them, with 11/11 lineout wins, it has to put pressure on Gatland to keep these 8 together for the test game on Saturday next, I would no question, and keep Peter O Mahony as captain too, but Warburton is the tour captain so either Sean O Brien or Peter O Mahony could be among the replacements.

Davies Te’o did well, but I still can’t see where the tries are coming from against the All Blacks. They created some chances today but failed to convert their opportunities.

North was poor and I’m still at a loss as to what he was doing for the Maori try, Watson wasn’t in the game, Halfpenny looks to be returning to form, he’s invaluable when he has his kicking boots on. Sexton & Murray worked well together. Both deserve to be in the starting 15 on Saturday, I would bring in Daly for North, the remaining backs keep their place. We will see after the Chiefs game on Tuesday and the fitness of Farrell

My starting 15 against the Chiefs are 1-15:

Marler, Best, Sinckler, Lawes, Henderson, Haskell, Tipuric, Stander, Webb, Biggar, Williams, Henshaw, Joseph,  Seymour, Payne.
